Dear Chalice Lighter,
The UU Society of Sacramento (UUSS) has been growing in attendance and membership since completion of its major building expansion in 2015. To mark its 150th anniversary in 2018, UUSS members are giving funds to build a new patio cover structure to reduce crowding during coffee hour and make large outdoor programs possible while being shielded from rain or hot sun.
Programs every day and night of the week have been connecting newcomers of all ages with longtime members for fellowship, spiritual deepening, worship, music and other arts, community service and anti-racism work. However, outdated parking lot lights are insufficient for safety or to give a sense of welcome at night. UUSS will replace parking lot lighting and add new lighting along its dark, long driveway into the church. The well-lit parking lot will make evening programs more accessible. Driveway lighting will guide everyone easily into the church with a sense of hospitality and safety. Of the total Anniversary Gifts project cost of $200,000, UUSS is asking for Chalice Lighters to help fund the $8,800 cost of the driveway lights.
The UUSS Mission is: “We come together to deepen our lives and be a force for healing in the world.” The support of Chalice Lighters will help Sacramento UUs bring more people together to discover Unitarian Universalism and the joy, love, and courage of a progressive spiritual community. Please help UUSS with this project through your Chalice Lighter gift for the Spring 2018 call.
Can you afford to give $20? We are grateful for whatever you can contribute. Payments will be accepted towards this call through June 4, 2018. Ten percent of each call reimburses expenses to administer the program. Any donations that come in after June 4 will go toward the PCD Undesignated Fund. You can make your payment online. Or mail your check, payable to PCD Chalice Lighters to: PCD Chalice Lighters, 7511 Greenwood Avenue North, #414, Seattle, WA 98103-4627. Please write PCD CL on both the memo line of your check and on the payment envelope. Questions may be directed to your PCD Chalice Lighter Coordinator, Karen Urbano at email@example.com.
Thank you for your donation!
