The PCD and its affiliated groups will follow a practice of open recruitment for all paid work in the District.  Paid work includes stipends and honoraria, or any gift of over $50 in value.

  • This policy requires that all such positions be widely announced to the members of PCD congregations, using such vehicles as the District newsletter and notices sent to ministers, church administrators, board presidents, and groups who would be likely to have a special interest in the position.
  • The criteria for the position must be reasonable and clearly stated, and a reasonable response time of no less than two weeks must be allowed.
  • All qualified applicants will be given fair consideration in the selection process, and those with hiring authority will document their selection process.
  • Those selecting the applicants may apply to the District Executive for a waiver from this policy if they believe they have special circumstances that would justify such a waiver.  If the District Executive is the hiring authority, a waiver may only be granted by a majority vote of the Board of Directors.

The PCD is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE). Qualified applicants are considered for employment without regard to age, race, color, sex, national origin, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or veteran status. If you need assistance or an accommodation during the application process because of a disability, it is available upon request. The PCD is pleased to provide such assistance, and no applicant will be penalized as a result of such a request.
